Today I finally got the chance to visit the Dark Heart exhibition at The Art Gallery of South Australia. I've been dying to go ever since it opened two months ago and with just a week left of the exhibition, I thought I'd better get twerkin'. Dark Heart features a vast variety of conteporary art, incorporating photography, painting, sculpture and much more. I have a huge love for contemporary art - yes, I prefer random splashes of paint on a canvas to an intricate historical painting from the 16th century. Sorry world. Here are some photos from my visit of the exhibition, as well as some old favourites from the art gallery.

I adored the huge abstract paintings - I love textured
paintings with bright colours, and those displayed as a part of Dark Heart had
a sort of digital element that just struck me. I also loved the collection of
paintings of world leaders. They all had their faces partly blacked out and
disfigured, portraying them as slightly evil or cruel (which, you know, real
politicians definitely aren't). Another favourite of mine was the collection of
photos of a blonde girl in distress... I wish I remembered the name of it...
damn my Dory-like memory. The photos are extraordinary and maybe even a little
disturbing. I love the quality of the images - every hair on her head is
visible as it flings around her head, included in her intensity. Basically
everything at the art gallery is pretty cool, except the weird hanging horse
and sculptured woman with washing. Those just creep me out. Yeesh.

I've been meaning to blog about this Cameo deer print skirt forever! I'm kind of glad I held off until I bought the matching top. Ah, so much bambi goodness. Anywho, I wore a skirt and top by Cameo the Label (obviously), belt from Portmans, watch by Marc by Marc Jacobs and boots from target. Wait, no, Tarjaaaaay.
'Till next time,
Kate
